Shane Watson is in full cry now celebrating his century by whacking Chris Gayle over midwicket for his 100th six.

Australia are 161-1 after 30 overs having opted to bat first in the 3rd one-day international against West Indies at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Wednesday.

Shane Watson goes after an entertaining knock of 122 off just 111 balls holing out to Kieran Pollard at deep backward square leg off Kemar Roach in the 34th over.

Having thumped his second six of Roach over long on followed by a boundary with a straight drive, Watson perishes as Australia step up the tempo.

Watson's breezy partnership of 112 for the second wicket with Phillip Hughes whose contribution was 37 came off just 111 balls.

Shane Watson made a spectacular return to the Australian side following an injury lay-off when he reached his seventh ODI century by whipping Kemar Roach to backward square leg for a couple in the 32nd over.

His belligerent 100 came off just 102 balls and contained 11 boundaries.

Shane Watson slams Dwayne Bravo through the covers for his 10th boundary to bring up the 150 of the Australia innings in the 28th over.

Watson and Phillip Hughes brought up their 50 partnership for the second wicket in just 67 balls.

Australia are looking to post a huge total having lost only Aaron Finch at the halfway stage of the innings.

Shane Watson is batting on a run-a-ball 77 while Philip Hughes is with him.

Aaron Finch is the batsman out caught behind by Devon Thomas off Darren Sammy after a breezy knock of 38 off 41 balls with five boundaries after a partnership of 89 in 15.3 overs with Shane Watson. 

Australia raced to 59 without loss in the mandatory first 10 Powerplay overs with the 50 of the innings coming in just 53 balls.

Watson returning to the side after injury completed his half century off just 52 balls with the help of seven boundaries.

The 100 of the Australian innings came in the 17th over off 101 balls.

Australia captain Michael Clarke won the toss and chose to bat in the third one-day international against the West Indies at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Wednesday.

Fit-again Shane Watson is back in the team and will open the Australian innings with Aaron Finch but he will not be bowling.

Australia will clinch the best of five-match series with victory after they won the opening two games in Perth by nine wickets and 54 runs.
