Veteran opener Virender Sehwag has been dropped from the Indian Test for the remaining two Tests against Australia, according to Times of India.
India's national selectors named a 14-member squad for the Tests in Mohali and Delhi.
Sehwag was widely expected to be dropped follow a run of poor scores failed to fire in five consecutive Tests after getting a century in the opening game of the home series against England at Ahmedabad in November-December last year.
Although India thumped Australia by 212 runs and by an innings to take a 2-0 series lead, Sehwag and Murali Vijay could produce only 11, 16 and 17 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane is likely to partner Murali Vijay who made a stylish 167 during the second Test in Hyderabad.
