Conares, the leading provider of downstream steel products in the region, has announced that it will become Title Sponsor of the popular Golf Society League, hosted at the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club in the UAE, for a period of 3 years.
As an avid enthusiast of the sport, and an active golfer himself, Bharat Bhatia, CEO of Conares signed the contract with Martin Duff, Director of Golf at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, for title sponsorship throughout 2013/2014, 2014/15 and 2015/16 golfing season.
Commenting on the agreement, Bhatia said: “Golf has become an increasingly popular sport in the UAE with many amateur golfers seeking a competitive challenge from the game. The Golf Society League provides ample opportunity to those who enjoy the sport, with or without a handicap, and are looking for a friendly competition as well. The SGSC have done a wonderful job with the League which has grown to become immensely popular over its last four seasons. We are excited about the upcoming tournament, and are certain it will continue to be an overwhelming success. We are happy to be a part of it.”

Hosted and administered by SGSC, the fifth season of the Conares Golf Society League is set to start from October 2013. The event accommodates 24 Societies, these Societies are pooled into four leagues of six teams with 2 Betterball Matchplay fixtures per month running until February 2014. All six teams in each league play each other once with the top two teams continuing to the quarterfinal knock out stages. The finalists eventually play in April, alongside a third and fourth place play off and a Captains and Sponsors Day.
